IHG lands its first signing in Menorca, Spain

IHG has landed its first signing in Menorca, Spain.

InterContinental Hotels Group, the world's largest hotel brand - which heads up chains such as Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn - is set to launch Hotel Indigo in the Balearic Islands for the very first time.

Willemijn Geels, Vice President, Development, Europe, IHG Hotels and Resorts, said: “Hotel Indigo has been introducing itself to must-visit destinations around the world at a rapid rate, capturing the spirit of local neighbourhoods everywhere. The rich history of Menorca makes it the ideal location for our Hotel Indigo brand where the hotel can capture the true spirit of the neighbourhood.

"We are delighted to be growing in Spain alongside our partners at Senator Hotels and Resorts, who have extensive experience within the Balearic Islands, enabling us to leverage their local knowledge. We see Spain as a market with significant growth potential and this signing is a prime example of how our exceptional Spanish team on the ground continue to thrive and distinguish IHG from our competitors in the market.”

Hotel Indigo is set to open its doors on the Spanish islands in the summer of 2026, and will mark the eighth property from the brand in Spain.

Daniel Rossell, Owner, Senator Hotels and Resorts said: “We are thrilled to be expanding our successful partnership with IHG Hotels and Resorts with Hotel Indigo Menorca. IHG has proven to be an industry leader, not only with its global enterprise but also in its collaborative approach to working with owners. This strong foundation sets us up perfectly for continued success and we look forward to immersing guests in a uniquely local experience at the hotel.”
