Fight card for UFC 268 announced

The fight card for UFC 268 has been confirmed with the rematch between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington topping the bill on November 6.

Welterweight champion Usman who is known as the "Nigerian Nightmare" will go up against the man he first defeated in December 2019, when a punch from Usman broke Covington's jaw.

The co-main event will see strawweight Rose Namajunas defending her title against Zhang Weili, the woman she beat to take the title in the first place, in what was the Chinese star's first defeat in 20 fights and only her second loss ever.

Other notable fights on the card see Justin Gaethje takes on the number four ranked Michael Chandler.

Speaking to MMA Junkie about the bout, Chandler said: “I think we go out there, we find out who takes the first backwards step, we get into a brawl and we have a blast.

“I’m going to come forward, I’m going to get in (Gaethje’s) face, I’m going to take the centre of the octagon.

"I’m ready for violence, I’m ready for bloodshed and I’m ready for action to give the fans at home a phenomenal show.

"So (Gaethje should) pack a lunch, show up, eat hearty – because we’ve got some work to do.”

Luke Rockhold will his return to the octagon after nearly two-and-a-half years out to face Sean Strickland.

Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar will fight Marlon Vera and Al Iaquinta takes on Bobby Green.

Ireland's Ian Garry will be looking to follow in countryman Connor McGregor's footsteps as he goes in search of a UFC belt when he makes his debut against Jordan Williams on the night.
