Frank Warren backs Tyson Fury to knock Oleksandr Usyk out

Frank Warren expects Tyson Fury to knock out Oleksandr Usyk.

The pair are set to meet in their long-awaited heavyweight unification bout on May 18 and the Gypsy King's promoter is certain that his man will come out on top inside the distance.

Warren told Sky Sports: "I think Tyson will knock him out. Like I predicted he would knock out (Deontay) Wilder in the second fight. I really fancy him to do that.

"I think he'll stop him but I think it's going to be a real, real exciting fight while it lasts.

"You've got two undefeated fighters, the best of their generation and we'll find out who is the real deal on the 18th."

The bout had been due to take place in February but was delayed after Fury sustained a nasty cut in sparring and Warren expects the Ukrainian to target the vulnerable area when the pair clash in the ring - although he doesn't think it will be successful against the WBC world champion.

The promoter said: "Well, I would. Of course he will [try to do that].

"He had a worse cut against [Otto] Wallin. Tyson had a dreadful cut in that fight and won the fight convincingly with a bad cut, a real bad cut."

Fury has maintained an undefeated boxing record despite being knocked down by both Wilder and Francis Ngannou in previous fights and Warren is amazed by the British's fighter's resilience in vital moments.

He said: "He's got plan A, plan B and a plan C and more important, he's got a big heart."
