Elliot Lee praises 'caring' Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney

Elliot Lee has praised “caring” Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

The 25-year-old Wrexham player is impressed with the hands-on attitude of the club’s Hollywood owners and finds they are always encouraging, whatever the side’s results.

He told FourFourTwo magazine: “Yeah they’re always involved with the players, they like to check in on you and see how you’re getting on.

“They come to games and they’re with us in the changing room before and afterwards.

“They’re definitely not owners who’ve just bought a club and aren’t involved.

“They’re caring people; they care about the club, the players, the supporters and the community.

“What they’ve both done for Wrexham has been incredible.

“They’re very hands-on and encouraging.

“Even when we had a spell of not winning matches, they were the first people to back us, saying, ‘Don’t worry’ and ‘Keep going’.”

And although Ryan and Rob’s efforts with the club are documented in a Disney+ series, Elliot insisted the squad aren’t fazed by the cameras.

He said: ”Once you’ve been at the club for a while, you don’t think about the documentary camera too much.

“The manager is really good at keeping everyone’s feet on the ground.

“We’re a hard-working, honest bunch and our job is to win games and take this club as high as we can.

“I love playing here and hope this season ends with another promotion.”
