The team’s bosses are said to want him at the ground as he has completed his sport’s equivalent of a treble at just 18 years old.
Littler, a lifelong United supporter, sealed his third major title in 15 months by beating James Wade 18–13 to win the Betfred World Matchplay at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool last weekend.
His victory adds to his previous wins at the PDC World Championship and Premier League Darts, making him the youngest player in the sport’s history to claim all three trophies.
Club insiders told The Sun they would be happy for Littler to bring his latest silverware to the stadium and appear again in front of fans.
SunSport reported it “understands they are open to talks and say he is always welcome given his love and loyalty towards United, who are managed by Ruben Amorim”.
In January this year, just two days before his 18th birthday, the darts prodigy took to the pitch at half-time during United’s 3–1 defeat to Brighton to show off the Sid Waddell Trophy after winning the World Championship at Alexandra Palace.
Although no formal approach has reportedly yet been made, Littler maintains close connections with senior figures at the club.
During his VIP visit in January, he met former manager Sir Alex Ferguson, now 83, and posed for photos. Later that month, he visited United’s Carrington training ground to take part in a nine-darts challenge with first-team players Harry Maguire, 31, and Christian Eriksen, 32, helping them work on their accuracy.
United officials are said to have noted the resemblance between Littler’s treble and the club’s historic 1999 Treble, achieved under Ferguson.
They also reportedly observed the Matchplay trophy bears a close likeness to football’s FA Cup.
The club, now managed by 39-year-old Ruben Amorim, open their Premier League season against Arsenal on 17 August.
Littler will not be able to attend, as he is scheduled to compete in the New Zealand Darts Masters in Auckland that same weekend.
He will then have a short break before returning for the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam from 12 to 14 September.
Speaking after his win over Wade, Littler was asked which of his three titles he valued most.
“It has to be the Worlds,” he said – adding: “But my personal favourite? Obviously, the Premier League at 17, winning that on debut and all the doubters saying if I am ready or not. That meant the most. But picking up the Worlds, I think that is the best.”
Littler became the youngest world darts champion earlier this year after defeating Michael van Gerwen at Ally Pally.
