Keegan Bradley opens up on Ryder Cup debate around captain's pick

Keegan Bradley is still debating whether to choose himself as a Ryder Cup captain's pick.

The 39-year-old golfer ended joint seventh in the FedExCup finale, which means he finished 11th in the qualification standings for the United States Ryder Cup Team, missing out on one of six automatic spots.

However, there is still a chance he could play if he decides to announce himself as one of six captain's picks on Wednesday (27.08.25).

He told Sky Sports: "I think no matter what decision that I make here, I could have gone the other way easily, no matter what.

"The only thing I care about is on Sunday of the Ryder Cup, that we win the Ryder Cup. Then I'll know I made the right decision. Until then, I won't know.

"It's going to be pretty wild. Whatever decision we make, we're going to have to live with it."

If Bradley does choose himself, he will become the first playing captain since Arnold Palmer in 1963.

Meanwhile, he acknowledged his teammates will be discussing his decision "behind his back".

He added: "I'm sure they [vice-captains] have been talking behind my back as I'm out there [playing].

"I know they have a separate chat without me. I'm sure they have some of their opinions that they want to tell me what they think."

His comments come after US President Donald Trump voiced his support for Bradley taking on the dual role.

He wrote on the Truth Social platform: "Keegan Bradley should DEFINITELY be on the American Ryder Cup Team - As Captain!!! He is an AMAZING guy. (sic)"
