Crystal Palace have held talks with manager Oliver Glasner regarding a new contract

Crystal Palace have held talks with manager Oliver Glasner about extending his contract.

Eagles chairman Steve Parish has revealed that the club are keen to tie down the coach - who led the club to their first-ever major trophy last season with victory in the FA Cup.

Parish told talkSPORT: "We've had some early conversations. We would love to keep Oliver, we're building something. I think for Oliver it's about the conditions being right."

The chairman admits that Palace must show that they are prepared to match Glasner's ambitions if they are to keep hold of their manager - who has been linked with Manchester United recently.

Parish said: "It’s about everything being in a way that he enjoys his work and he finds the conditions favourable to achieve. Oliver wants to win things. He makes no secret of that. That’s what he’s in football for. So if we can align those interests then hopefully we can make something happen."

Parish also acknowledged that midfielder Adam Wharton is keen to play in the Champions League, whether that be with Palace or another club.

He said: "I think Adam at some point will want to play either in the Champions League with us, if we can make that happen, or probably with another club.

"He’s an extraordinary talent. I think right now, and I can’t speak for Adam, he’s focused on his time at Crystal Palace."

Parish also confirmed that work on redeveloping the main stand at the club's Selhurst Park stadium will begin in January.

He said: "It’s an absolute must and everybody now on the shareholder group is committed to doing it, so hopefully in January there’s lots of things going on.

"Things are being moved, power stations, dressing rooms being built. There’s a lot of things that maybe the fans can’t see so it has been going forwards but the real physical things, things being demolished etc, will start in January."
