Cook injury blow for Cherries

The former Leeds United midfielder has not had the start at the Cherries he may have thought he was going to get when he left Elland Road in the summer due to the arrival of Jack Wilshere from Arsenal.

Now the injury, picked up whilst playing for the England under-20 side, is the latest set back to his Cherries career, although the plus side is he does not need to have surgery.

Speaking to the Daily Echo, boss Eddie Howe said:"Lewis is not going to need surgery, which is a really positive outcome. The specialist believed we could, potentially, get him back within three months.

"The fact he doesn't need surgery is a huge boost to him and us.

"The timescale was around the lines of what we were expecting but we were hoping he wouldn't have to go under the knife because then there are long-term implications with that."
