Lyon bid to keep Gunners target

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was heavily linked with a move for the striker during the summer transfer window and is thought to have failed with at least one bid.

The 25-year-old striker has also been linked with a move to Premier League rivals West Ham United and there is a chance that Lyon's resolve could again be tested in January.

However, Lyon are keen on keeping Lacazette as he has netted nine goals in nine appearances this season and their President Jean Michel Aulas has confirmed they want him to stay.

He said: "I would like for us to be able to extend Alexandre’s contract."

The Gunners are right in the thick of the Premier League title race and Wenger could decide to pull out all the stops to land Lacazette when the window re-opens.
