No thoughts of Paul Pogba pay rise

Paul Pogba will have to wait another year before Manchester United consider handing him a pay hike, club insiders have stated.

The France midfielder earns a basic £300,000-per-week at Old Trafford but his agent Mino Raiola is understood to be demanding pay parity with Alexis Sanchez - who is being paid £505,000-per-week since his arrival from Arsenal in January.

United sources have revealed Pogba can also top up his annual pay by a further £2m-per-year, linked towards his commercial rights and getting his hands on silverware.

That is something Sanchez is not afforded, meaning United's money men will not be pressurised into handing the 25-year-old improved financial terms until he starts to show more on the pitch.

The £89m former Juventus star is still struggling to capture his best form at United and reports continue to circulate he does not see eye-to-eye with manager Jose Mourinho.

It is believed United's financial stance on Pogba is because they need to factor in a hefty new deal for goalkeeper David de Gea.

The Spanish number one earns around £200,000-per-week at the Theatre of Dreams and United's paymasters know his camp are expecting terms closer to double that amount for him to sign away his peak years to the club.
