Emery has now revealed that Neymar could be set to return earlier than initially expected after spending his time off recovering at home in Brazil.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, the coach revealed the forward was making positive progress and could return before the end of the season.
"The last medical test is good, it's the normal progression," he said. "All the medical tests went well. The last news that I have is that he is close to return.
"When he gets here, I'm sure he'll want to play. He may have time to play a few games with us before the end of the season. We are going to work, we hope to have him on the team for some of our last games."
