Exit on cards for Real Madrid star

Reports in Italy claim Luka Modric has a gentleman's agreement with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez about him leaving the club.

Various reports in Italy claim there is some form of agreement between the pair which would allow him to move on and join Inter Milan, who are expected to make another effort to land him in January.

The claims state that Modric himself has told his Croatia international team-mates at Inter, Sime Vrsaljko, Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic, that he would like to join them at the Nerazzurri.

How true the claims are remain to be seen but it is unlikely that Perez would allow one of the world's top stars to leave Los Blancos, unless he has someone lined up to replace him who is an even bigger star. Neymar continues to be linked with a huge move to the Bernabeu and if he were to arrive it would appease fans who would be disappointed at Modric's departure.
