Chelsea defender on Hornets radar

Watford could make a move for Gary Cahill in January if he continues to struggle for action at Chelsea.

The defender, who retired from England duty after the World Cup, is yet to be included in a Premier League match day squad by new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri.

It has been claimed Cahill will seek a move in the winter window if he cannot force his way into Sarri's plans and the 32-year-old would be available for a cut-price fee as his contract is due to expire next summer.

Marseille and Bordeaux have been mooted as possible suitors and French reports say the Ligue 1 pair could face competition from Watford.

Cahill may be in line for his first outing of the season when Chelsea head to PAOK Solinka in the Europa League on Thursday as Sarri is set to make a number of changes.
