Striker loan swoop played down by Hoops

The Hoops are in desperate need of a new striker after being left short in that department and reports are rife suggesting that an 18-month loan deal has been lined up between the two clubs. Weah needs first-team football to help with his development and hinted last week that a loan move to the Scottish champions is on the cards when the transfer window opens. However, Rodgers remained coy about a move when quizzed over whether it would happen. "There is nothing to add, other than the fact he is the son of George, who was a very good player." Rodgers told CelticTV. "Of course we want to bring in some players in January and he is a very talented kid, but there is nothing else." Despite Rodgers playing it down, the move is widely expected to go through in the new year.
