Hargreaves thinks United can get Sancho despite pandemic

Owen Hargreaves thinks Manchester United will still offer a "significant" fee to sign Jadon Sancho amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The former England midfielder has weighed in on the Borussia Dortmund star's future after the winger has been heavily linked to a Premier League return with the Red Devils.

As reported by the Daily Mirror newspaper, BT Sport pundit Hargreaves said: "I think Jadon is a special case. Whoever gets him, the fees are going to be significant but that is a player for potentially a decade.

"So he walks into any of our great teams, our Man Citys, our Liverpools, even a Barcelona or a Real Madrid if he fancies it.

"His level is that good."

Hargreaves insisted while the current health crisis will have an "impact" on football and the fees being offered for players, stars like 20-year-old Sancho will still command a hefty price tag.

He added: "I think you'll see fees come down for sure.

"It's going to impact football teams as well but I think the big ones, the Bayern Munichs and the Man Uniteds, they are still going to have money to do what they want to do. Maybe not in terms of quantity, but in terms of quality."
