Samsung's elderly Bot Care robot

Samsung has introduced Bot Care for the elderly.

The new robot from the South Korean firm will be able to take your grandparents' blood pressure and help out with every day tasks such has handling their medicines and keeping a check of their heart rate and sleeping patterns.

The bot also comes with blinking eyes, which adds a human quality to the android.

The Samsung Bot Care also encourages exercise and has recommendations for managing stress.

John Herrington, Senior Vice President and General Manager of home appliances at Samsung Electronics America, commented:

"Connecting people in new ways and helping them care for their homes and families is one of our biggest missions.

"Samsung is taking connected living to the next level with innovations that are more intelligent and intuitive, allowing people to get things done while enjoying time with family and friends."

During the live demo of the product at CES on Monday (07.01.19), the bot was show taking someone's blood pressure instantly by the touch of a screen.

And for those who are too busy to check in on their elders, they will be able to monitor their activity through the device without being in the same place.

Another of Samsung's robots on display was the Bot Air, which reduces toxins in the home.
