Robots to deliver food to university students

A robot is set to deliver food to students at a university in the US.

Those studying at George Mason University in Virginia will be able to use the Starship app to order food from fast food chains and the coffee shop Starbucks for just the added cost of $1.99.

However, it won't arrive by a delivery man or woman, it will come by the robot, which can carry up to 20 pounds.

It works by them downloading the app on their iPhone or Android phone, they make their order and then drop a pin on the map somewhere around campus to have their meal delivered to.

The robots come with a locking lid that can only be opened by the person who placed the order.

The robot is the creation of European startup Starship Technologies.
