The video streaming service is said to be developing an answer for users who end up scrolling endlessly through the content on the platform trying to find something that catches their interest.
According to Android Police, Netflix's Android app is testing a new feature that will cue up a "Random Episode" of a given series with an in-app shuffle icon, which will expose users to new shows they may not have seen before, and give them a chance to find their next favourite series.
In a statement to Gizmodo, Netflix confirmed the test feature when a spokesperson said: "We are testing the ability for members to play a random episode from different TV series on the Android mobile app. These tests typically vary in length of time and by region, and may not become permanent."
As of the time of writing, it seems the feature is exclusive to the Android app for now, but this is believed to just be the case whilst it is in the test phase, and will be rolled out to iOS and the website once testing is complete.
In a screenshot of the feature, it seems some of the shows which offer this feature include 'The Office', 'Arrested Development', 'New Girl', and Netflix original series 'Our Planet', though it's unknown if more shows will be added to the feature further down the line.
Whilst some users are thrilled with the idea of having a random episode chosen for them, others are concerned the system will be confusing for people who are unfamiliar with the series they have randomly dived into.
