Scientists create contact lens that zooms in with a blink

Scientists have invented a contact lens that zooms in with two blinks of the eye.

The lead researcher of the robotic lens, Shengqiang Cai, of the University of California, revealed the eye has electro-oculographic capabilities even when asleep.

He told The New Scientist: "Even if your eye cannot see anything, many people can still move their eyeball and generate this electro-oculographic signal."

And Shengquiang is hoping the lenses could used on adjustable glasses in the future.
