Google working on Google Calendar fix

Google is "working diligently" to fix a Google Calendar issue.

The tech giant has posted to its Calendar Help forums this week to reveal it is aware of a problem allowing malicious third parties to hijack the app with unremovable spam invites.

The post reads: "We're aware of the spam occurring in Calendar and are working diligently to resolve this issue. We'll post updates to this thread as they become available... Thank you for your patience."

Meanwhile, the message also includes a link directing users to another page that lets them know how to report unwanted events or invites.

Google also advises people to never respond to the invite, which could result in the spam remaining as a crossed-out event in your calendar.

On the page, the company notes:"Don't reply to event invites from your phone. Instead, follow the directions below to report the event as spam on your computer.

"When you report one event, all events from that organizer will be removed from your calendar."
