The micro-blogging app tweeted the new function on Wednesday (11.12.19).
They wrote: "Give the gift of GIFs. You can now upload your iOS Live Photos as GIFs anywhere you upload photos on Twitter."
The app has undergone a host of new updates and tweaks this year, but users are still waiting on an edit button.
However, the site's product lead, Kayvon Beyjpour, claimed that whilst they may allow users to update their posts in the future, it's not likely to be added anytime soon.
He said: "Honestly, it's a feature that I think we should build at some point, but it's not anywhere near the top of our priorities. That's the honest answer."
However, they are going to work on ways of "correcting a typo or clarifying what they [users] meant to say".
