People across the UK are making use of the four-day weekend to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee and taking the chance for a pre-summer escape.
Mobility service provider SIXT's Weekend Journey Expert has given some tips for those hitting the road to make sure they don't get stuck in traffic.
As well as researching road works to find the clearest route, drivers should also try to travel "in early morning or late evening" to cut down their journey time.
The expert also advised using an app with live traffic notifications to keep up to date with road conditions.
They added: "Prepare for your journey by packing water and snacks when you set off so you only have to stop when you need to."
And they even advised taking the scenic route, both for a "prettier drive" and to avoid congestion.
SIXT also gave some tips on three regal destinations across the UK and the luxury cars to explore them in.
They advised taking a drive in an Audi A5 through Windsor, Berkshire to explore its rich history, or a Range Rover Velar for Balmoral, Scotland.
SIXT added: "This car is designed to handle some of the toughest and most unpredictable terrain so whether you are negotiating gridlock in a concrete jungle or meandering the Scottish Highlands, the Range Rover Vogue is the ultimate luxury 4x4."
And another destination was Sandringham in Norfolk, where the Royal Family spend Christmas at their picturesque estate.
For this trip, SIXT advises the Jaguar I-Pace, adding: "This award-winning, all-electric performance SUV is spacious, beautifully detailed and has technology seamlessly integrated. It is a true sporting joy to hit the open road during the bank holiday weekend.
"It offers premium leather seats, plenty of cargo space and high levels of technical capabilities for a smooth, satisfying drive."
