Young people between 20 and 29 really like the idea of seeing their favourite music artist or going to a sporting event abroad and it really inspires their travel.
A study by online travel agency eDreams found that 40 per cent of American millennials are interested in going to a music festival outside of their own country. However, 29 per cent of people in this age group are more interested in intimate music festivals than the likes of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Travel agent Toranio Turkvant said: "The days of relaxing in the room are over. My clients want the ultimate experience of the city or country they are visiting. They want to experience the food, music, and culture. My clients get to see their favourite recording artist or sports team and, in return, I get a percentage of the ticket sale. How awesome is that?"
26 per cent of millennials also confessed to downloading music from local artists so they can get in the mood whilst 22 per cent admitted to making a playlist with local music to remind themselves of their trip.
