Country coupling has become the new trend

Country coupling has become the new trend.

The 2020 Virtuoso Luxe Report has revealed that travellers are keen to pair two countries together when they head abroad, with Virtuoso revealing some of its favourite destinations to pair with one another.

They wrote in the report: "Travellers are heeding the advice of well-informed Virtuoso advisors, who encourage clients to explore multiple countries, even during shorter journeys. Trips that mix locales are trending, especially ones with surprising combinations. Travellers may pair a ski adventure with a beach finale, or a city stay with a jungle adventure, or a well-traveled place followed by a little-known spot to mingle with locals. The focus is on varied experiences that enrich the trip with each stop."

Virtuoso have linked Zermatt, Switzerland with Cairo, Egypt, promising "a country coupling for the adventurous at heart". It begins with the picturesque Zermatt, which promises the highest peaks in the Swiss Alps whilst they then travel to the pyramids of Giza, which will allow visitors to see the "epic experiences and wondrous views".

Another unlikely paring includes Dublin, Ireland and Reykjavík, Iceland, which are only two to three hours apart by aeroplane.
