Several players are already attracting major brand and television deals after the victory, The Sun has reported.
The squad, led by 27-year-old captain Leah Williamson, sealed a dramatic victory on Sunday (27.07.25) night after a tense penalty shootout in the European Championship final.
Their win marked the squad’s second successive Euros title and has cemented their position as some of the most marketable stars in British sport.
According to brand and culture expert Nick Ede, England’s female footballers are now tipped to surpass the men in terms of commercial appeal.
Nick told The Sun: “In many ways the Lionesses should be in more demand than the men, because they are winners. They have won the Euros twice. Their currency is going to be much, much higher now.”
He continued: “The advantage they have over the men is that they have an appeal across the genders. Men like them and women want to be them. They could make between £50 million and £80 million.”
Among the players expected to benefit most is 27-year-old Chloe Kelly, who scored the winning penalty in the final and has since said she would like to appear on ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here. Winger Lauren James, 22, and Leah are also poised for high-profile opportunities, having already featured in an advert for Walkers crisps alongside Argentinian football star Lionel Messi.
Marketing experts say the squad’s popularity off the pitch is being driven by their success on it — as well as their visibility across fashion, sport, and television.
Top brands are reportedly competing to work with the team, whose glamorous public image has wide appeal.
Nick added: “Collectively as Lionesses they can be making a lot of money, this is their time to shine. “They could be the next Alex Scott, who is now a bona fide presenter on The One Show, or Jill Scott who was on I’m a Celebrity. But with every team you only get a few stand out stars.”
