Mark Chamberlain has respect for Jack Rafferty

Mark Chamberlain doesn’t see the point in being “disrespectful” towards Jack Rafferty.

The 26-year-old super-lightweight insisted there is a “mutual respect” between himself and the British and Commonwealth champion so he insisted he isn’t interested in any drama outside of the ring before they face one another on Saturday (23.08.25) night.

He told Boxing News magazine “It’s not secret to anyone, me and Jack have that mutual respect.

“But when we get in there on the night it’s different - all that goes out of the window…

“There’s no need to be disrespectful. We get in there on the night and we get paid for it, so what’s the point in causing aggro?

“Obviously it sells fights, but I don’t get people that want to throw tables or do this and do that. It’s irrelevant, it means nothing.

“At the end of the day, you get in there with gloves on and you get paid for it – that’s it really.”

Mark knows Jack will be a “tough” opponent but he’s feeling confident.

He said: “We know what Jack is about, we know what he’s capable of and we know it’s probably my toughest fight to date.

“But tough fights are what I want and what I need.

“I’m a fighter, I’ll get in there and fight anyone.

“I can only get in there and have a go, but I’m 100 per cent sure on the 23rd I’ll be bringing the British and Commonwealth titles home.”
