Ludvig Aberg not defined by results

Ludvig Aberg doesn’t want to be defined by results.

The 25-year-old Swede’s dad always encouraged him to have a “good time” on the golf course and he hopes his temperament off the green affects his performance with a club, rather than the other way round.

He told Today’s Golfer magazine: “I never really get angry playing golf. I would get annoyed and go really quiet, but I have to thank my dad for helping me with those things.

“He would say that if we go out to play golf together, he didn’t care about how I played, he wanted us to just have a good time.

“And I think that’s stuck with me. It’s an important aspect of how I play golf.

“I don’t want results to dictate how I am as a person.

“I think how I am as a person should dictate how I play golf.

“That’s how I try to operate.”

The 25-year-old sportsman admitted he has a lot of regrets about this season.

He said: “This year I’ve learned a lot about my game and myself, what works for me and what doesn’t.

“I would change quite a lot about how this season has gone.

“If I had a magic wand, I’d change how I practised and prepared for events this season.

“I’d have been more efficient in my practice at home, so that I could be a little bit sharper for tournaments.”
