The Reds have not been shy to splash out when needed and Klopp knows they will have to do so again if they are to continue their progression and build a side capable of challenging for the title.
Klopp though says they decide who they want before determining how much they are prepared to pay, rather than splashing out vast sums of money that clubs ask for these days.
He said: 'This club will do what we have to do, the owners are ready for that but it doesn't mean we only spend in this category.
"When the player is the right player it is not important how expensive he was.
'He needs to fit in the team, that's why we paid the price. It has to be right. You can't say you want a player, they give you a number and you say: 'Right we will pay that!' That's not how it should work.'
