Keyless cars killed 28 people

Keyless cars have caused dozens of deaths.

It has been reported that 28 people have died and 45 others seriously injured since 2006 after being poisoned by carbon monoxide after failing to turn off the ignition.

According to the New York Times newspaper, more than half of the 17 million cars sold annually in the US now have keyless ignitions.

Keyless ignition systems allows the driver to start the vehicle with the push of a button linked to a fob rather than having to carry around a set of keys.
