Amazon Go cashierless store coming to New York

Amazon Go will reportedly open its New York store opposite the World Trade Centre.

The company's highly anticipated cashierless store is coming to the Big Apple, and it's said that it will find its home in Brookfield Place.

According to Recode, the store will be found in the shopping and office complex, which already features upscale stores like Louis Vuitton, Saks Fifth Avenue and Gucci.

Amazon Go itself is built to allow customers to shop without needing to stand in checkout lines - or even use a wallet.

Shoppers simply scan the Amazon Go app on your phone on arrival, pick up your products - while monitored by the store's cameras - and your Amazon account is charged as you leave.

The first store launched in Seattle in January, with a second coming to the city in August, and a Chicago store following a month later.

In a statement regarding the reported New York location, an Amazon spokesperson said: "We don't comment on rumors or speculation."
