The South Korean firm will reveal further details of the product at the big reveal during the live-streamed event on Monday (07.01.19) - which goes live at 8am PST (4pm British time).
The new set features the a9 Gen 2 chip, also used in the W9, E9 and C9 models. The chips work with the powerful 'ThinQ AI' (Artificial Intelligence) to create the highest quality picture.
Announcing their latest OLED TV, LG said: "LG's 8K 88-inch Z9 OLED TV boasts higher processing capabilities for delivering the most realistic 8K picture quality that looks sharp, vivid and detailed thanks to 8K upscaling and improved noise reduction.
"In addition to content source detection, the new processor finely adjusts the tone mapping curve in accordance with ambient conditions to offer optimized screen brightness, leveraging its ability to understand how the human eye perceives images in different lighting."
As well as high quality audio, LG has teamed up with Amazon's Alexa to offer voice-controlled functionality, and can even allow the user to order a takeaway through the Google Assistant and TV from the comfort of the sofa.
They added: "The Google Assistant is again built-in this year's line-up, delivering a streamlined experience that allows users to manage daily tasks, find answers and control compatible smart home devices.
"Users won't need to grab a phone to order pizza as they can do it on the TV without leaving the program that's playing on the screen.' LG will unveil its new televisions."
