Luxury travel company Virtuoso have named the three countries as the most popular destinations for the next year, with Japan bringing in many tourists as part of the summer 2020 Olympics, which is expected to see a whopping 10 million visitors arrive in the country.
Slovenia and its beautiful scenery - including the stunning mountains and scenic lakes - offers a "fresh, cost-effective alternative" to European favourites such as the ever-popular Italy and newcomer Croatia.
And when it came to Antarctica, there was an 19 per cent increase in visitors from ten years previous, with 55,000 people visiting in 2018 and 2019.
Albert Herrera, senior vice president of global product partnerships at luxury travel company Virtuoso, said: "Japan is very hot because of what's happened this year with the evolution of the dynasty and the Olympics next year ... whereas Slovenia is fresh, it's different, and yet it's in Europe ... Antarctica travelers are not just the honeymooners. For example, the Lindblad [Expeditions] ships, they have about 40 or 45 people, and some of them are complete with two families. Grandma pays for everything ... It's like the high-end version of saying, 'I'm going on a big Alaska cruise.'"
