The Facebook-owned app now lets users pay for items after clicking on the price tags of items shared in people's posts.
It's just one of the ways in which Instagram is achieving its goal of becoming the place to go for shopping.
They said: "Checkout is just one part of our long-term investment in shopping," the company said in a blog post. "We're excited to introduce even more ways for people to enjoy shopping on Instagram this year."
The new features - which users customers' payment information stored on Facebook - means instead of having to click into another window, which can prove frustrating, people will be able to buy products on the app.
It was previously reported that Instagram is planning to launch its own shopping app.
