Bacica will oversee all operations, guest experience and future expansion plans across the resort, including LEGOLAND Theme Park, LEGOLAND Water Park, SEA LIFE Florida Aquarium and the resort’s on-site hotel properties.
Brian Bacica said: “LEGOLAND Florida Resort is entering an incredibly exciting period of expansion and innovation. I’m honoured to lead the team as we deliver on some highly anticipated park updates.”
He added: “With major investments like Galacticoaster on the horizon, we have an extraordinary opportunity to build new experiences that spark imagination, strengthen family connections and elevate Central Florida as a must-visit destination for families.”
His arrival comes as the park prepares for some of its most ambitious developments to date.
Most recently, Bacica served as president of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Adventure Island, a role he assumed in July, leading two of Florida’s major tourism destinations and managing teams of more than 6,000 employees.
Prior to that, he spent two years as president of Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, overseeing significant capital investment across theme park, water park and resort operations.
Bacica brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across the attractions, hospitality and food and beverage industries.
His career also includes senior roles with Disneyland Resort and Universal Parks and Resorts in both California and Florida.
During his time at Universal, he played a key role in the opening of Volcano Bay and helped lead the rebranding of Universal CityWalk Hollywood.
The appointment coincides with a transformational phase for LEGOLAND Florida Resort, highlighted by the upcoming debut of Galacticoaster.
Scheduled to open on February 27, 2026, the attraction will be the park’s first indoor, space-themed family roller coaster and represents the largest single in-park investment in its history.
Beyond his corporate leadership roles, Bacica has also served on several non-profit and community boards, supporting initiatives focused on children’s health and homelessness.
As LEGOLAND Florida looks ahead to its next chapter, Bacica’s appointment signals a clear focus on family-friendly innovation, large-scale investment and continued growth within Florida’s competitive theme park landscape.
