Epic Carnival Experience to launch luxury floating hotel for Trinidad Carnival 2026

Epic Carnival Experience are launching a floating hotel for the Trinidad Carnival.

Departing from San Juan, Puerto Rico, on February 11, the nine-day journey will dock in Trinidad for five days during the height of Carnival, positioning itself as a premium, all-inclusive gateway to the festivities.

Organisers say the voyage aims to set a new benchmark for luxury Carnival travel while preserving the authenticity at the heart of Trinidad and Tobago Carnival.

Jonathan Mack, CEO and founder of Epic Carnival Experience, said the concept was born out of a desire to share Caribbean culture with a wider global audience. He said: "The goal of EPIC is to expose Pop America and Pop Europe to our culture and make them feel at one with us. Carnival isn’t just an event for us, it’s who we are. Now, we’ve found a way to share that with the world."

Trinidad and Tobago Carnival is widely regarded as one of the most significant Carnival celebrations globally, known for its explosion of colour, music and movement. Deeply rooted in generations of tradition, the festival fills the streets with nonstop soca, elaborate masquerade costumes and iconic events such as J’ouvert, when revellers gather at dawn to fully embrace the spirit of Carnival.

"For many visitors, experiencing Trinidad Carnival is a once-in-a-lifetime moment that leaves a lasting impression long after the final parade ends.

Epic Carnival Experience has positioned itself as the first floating luxury hotel created specifically for Trinidad Carnival, addressing the long-standing challenge of limited local accommodation during the peak season.

"With roughly 2,500 hotel rooms available on land, demand has increasingly outpaced supply as international interest grows. Epic transforms cruise ships into all-inclusive cultural hubs, expanding access while maintaining a strong connection to Carnival traditions.

Guests will enjoy premium accommodation, gourmet dining, top-shelf beverages, 24-hour room service and immersive cultural programming. The experience also includes access to the exclusive Beach Day Party in Tobago, alongside curated on-board and on-land events.

The 2026 voyage will feature special guest appearances from major cultural figures including Machel Montano, Alison Hinds, Olatunji Yearwood, Mr. Vegas, Notch of Born Jamericans, Walshy Fire of Major Lazer, Majah Hype and Freetown Collective, creating a Carnival experience that blends performance, heritage and celebration.

Spaces for the voyage are limited, with Epic Carnival Experience encouraging travellers to secure cabins early ahead of Trinidad and Tobago Carnival 2026.
