Only two fifths of Americans use their time off work to go on holiday

Only two fifths of Americans use their time off work to go on holiday.

Most residents of the United States decided to go on vacation when they get on a break from work whilst 51 percent of those surveyed admitted they do not use their allotted vacation time.

However, only 19 per cent of of these travel abroad, the study by us.jetcost.com has revealed.

And unsurprisingly, 16 per cent of Americans take time off work to do more work, whilst work was also the reason why some people couldn't take time off too. Nearly a third (31 per cent) insist they "had too much work to complete" to take time off whilst nearly one fifth (19 per cent) said they "wanted the day back as pay".

A spokesperson for us.jetcost.com said: "We spend most of our lives at work and it can be a very challenging environment, so taking time off now and again is crucial. You don't necessarily have to go on vacation away from home or out of the country, but you should certainly avoid doing any form of work whilst not there."
