Dillian Whyte rules out retirement after Moses Itauma loss

Dillian Whyte has insisted he won't be retiring after losing to Moses Itauma.

The 37-year-old boxing veteran lost in the first round via knockout to the rising heavyweight earlier this month, but the star has ruled out hanging up his gloves following the performance.

He told Sky Sports: "This is not where my story ends. I may have lost this fight, but not the fire that built me…

"Thank you to everyone who’s been standing by me through the highs and the lows. I’ll be back.”

It's not clear who Whyte will look to fight next after the loss in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Hwoever, Itauma's manager Francis Warren has claimed the 20-year-old star will have his next fight in December 2025.

Warren told Boxing News: "He will fight again in December, the world is his oyster.

"What's next? Watch this space. It is very exciting to be working with someone who is such a fantastic ambassador for the sport.

"If a big opportunity presents itself, we will grab it.

"If it is a fight that people may not see as a career-defining fight, then that is on us to decide on what step we take."

The manager even offered up a potential next opponent, singling out Filip Hrgovic, who has been ranked at number six in the heavyweight division by Ring Magazine.

Warren added: "I like the [Filip] Hrgovic fight, we will just have to see how his cut heals up."

However, Hrgovic's status is unclear after the 33-year-old boxer had a gash above his right eye reopened against his recent unanimous win over David Adeleye.

It was a deep wound, which would typically see a boxer told to sit on the sidelines for six months to let it heal.
