The 26-year-old golfer has struck up a friendship with the Believe hitmaker, and while they “fanboy” one another, the sportsman has also helped his pal with his game.

He told Golf Monthly magazine: “Justin Facetimed me after Houston to congratulate me.

“We’ve become good friends - he fanboys me and I fanboy him too.

“You could almost say I’m his coach, as he regularly sends me clips of his swing to analyse.

“I can tell you, he gives it a good rip.”

Lee is known for his avid social media following, which is also how he connected with Justin, and he is happy to share his life online.

He said: “I know that sort of thing might have a lot of traditional golf fans scratching their heads, but it is who I am.

“I’m a young guy and I grew up with social media. So posting stuff just seems natural to me.

“For me, the beauty of the internet is you can interact with people who might not get to see the real you otherwise.

“I’ve got a content team helping me, and they film my life inside the ropes and edit videos of me doing everything from messing around in pro-ams to signing autographs. The response has been great.

“But I still do a lot of it on my own – just turn the phone camera on myself and share my thoughts and feelings, not just about golf but about hat life throws at you…

“I love the reaction I get.”
