Daniel Dubois plans to 'bring chaos' to Oleksandr Usyk fight

Daniel Dubois plans to 'bring chaos' to Oleksandr Usyk fight

Daniel Dubois has vowed to "bring chaos" in his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk.

The British fighter will bid to become undisputed heavyweight world champion when he takes on the Ukrainian on Saturday (19.07.25) at Wembley Stadium and thinks he can replicate his stunning knockout victory against Anthony Joshua at the same venue last September.

Dubois told reporters: "Yeah, turn up the heat, bring the chaos and restore order with victory. And that's what I've got to do.

"Whenever they [Usyk's team] put a challenge down, I'm ready for it, wherever it's about to go down, I'm ready for it."

The IBF world champion could take his place amongst boxing greats by becoming unified heavyweight world champion and is desperate to emulate his heroes in the ring.

Dubois said: "Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson and Rocky [Marciano] and all of those greats that have come and gone. This fight puts me right up there with all of them to be remembered for all time in history."

The fight marks the first time an undisputed heavyweight bout has been staged in the UK and Dubois' promoter Frank Warren says that the contest was easy to make.

He explained: "They both wanted it, so it's not like you're trying to convince somebody into doing something.

"It's the fight they both wanted and that shows you that they both got confidence in their ability to win the fight. Usyk thinks he's going to win the fight and Daniel thinks he's going to win the fight."

Dubois was beaten by Usyk via a ninth-round knockout in their first fight in 2023 but Warren has warned the Ukrainian that he is facing a very different opponent this time.

The Queensberry Promotions chief said: "Last time they fought Daniel the boy. This time they're fighting Daniel the man and that's the difference and he'll find that out on Saturday.

"On the strength of [Usyk's] record, he's the best heavyweight of his generation, but everybody's the best till they get beaten and I think it's his time now.

"I think the time's up and I generally think that Daniel's got the tools, the ability to go and do the business and come away with a prize on Saturday."
